Everything you need to know about "Mugglestone" - Metaphysical associations, healing benefits, geological information, mineral composition, & more!
Tiger Iron, also known as "Mugglestone", is an eye-catching stone with pockets of tiger's eye that remind me of the character Venom as he's trying to escape the symbiote. It was named after the obvious inclusions of golden tiger's eye and iron-rich hematite. Tiger Iron is a wonderfully grounding stone with energies specifically focusing on the bottom three chakras; root, sacral, & solar. Found only in Western Australia, Tiger Iron was formed over 2.5 billion years ago before the Earth's atmosphere was full of oxygen. Keep reading to learn more about this unique stone and how to incorporate it's power into your daily practice!

The Formation & Composition of Tiger Iron
Being a banded iron formation (BIF), Tiger Iron likely began to form over 2.5 billion years ago. At this time, the Earth was still young and there was no oxygen except for the waste products of microscopic photosynthetic organisms called cyanobacteria. These bacteria lived in the sea and over time, their oxygen waste would react with dissolved iron within the water. The reaction would produce iron oxides and slowly form bands along the sea floor. After millions of years of heat and pressure, these bands became crystalized and were distorted from movements within the earth (which is why the bands aren't perfectly straight).
Banded iron formations can be found all over the world, which is why many people believe that Tiger Iron itself has many localities. This is actually inaccurate, true Tiger Iron can only be found in the Pilbara region of Western Australia and must contain hematite, jasper, and tiger's eye. Many of the other BIFs are known as jaspilite, which is an iron-rich mixture of jasper and (mainly) hematite.
The tigers eye portion of Tiger Iron is formed a bit differently. Crocidolite, also known as blue asbestos, grows in parallel fibers which over time are altered to iron oxides. Then, these fibers are replaced by silica (quartz), creating the beautiful chatoyant stone we know as tigers eye!

Finally, the red jasper in Tiger Iron is great for increased focus, strength, & determination. It will keep you grounded & reduce procrastination, helping you into action to get things done. It is also great for endurance and mental fortitude.
Together, the three of these stones create a motivational stone that empowers you to express your creativity and ultimately get shit done. It reminds you that you can achieve anything through hard work, focus, & determination.
